What do we do?
We raise money for hearing impaired, poor and disabled children. Money is raised both through private persons and companies.
Since 2008, the members of Change For Life have visited schools for deaf and impoverished children in the Qinghai province to help these children to a better life. In collaboration with first Siemens and currently GN Resound, children have been tested and equipped with proper and individually fitted hearing aids. Many children have been given better living conditions with supplies of food, medicine and clothes.
We currently work on two projects:
Hearing Aids -
A lot of children in the Qinghai province are suffering from hearing loss due to complications after infections from when they were small. It is estimated to be 1 900 hearing impaired children in this province and many of them could be able to hear with a proper hearing aid. A hearing aid costs arount 1400 rmb depending on complexity.
Change For Life has donated approximately 200 hearing aids to the schools 'Qinghai Province Special Education School' and 'Xining City School for Deaf and Mutes'. By raising money for hearing aids we help change these children's lives forever.
Xunhua Special School -
The school is located in the town Xunhua in the Qinghai province, Today the school has 120 students between 6 and 12 years old. Some are hearing-impaired, others have a functional disorder or are very poor. Many of these children come from very poor conditions. We can help to change for the better by e.g. providing winter insulation to school dormatories and canteen, food & nutrition, sanitary articles & medical care, clothes and shoes, mattresses, blankets and hearing aids etc.
